All about the Triund Adventure Trek.

Triund is the crown jewel of Dharamshala , situated in the laps of Dhauladhar mountains, it has the perfect view of the Dhauladhar mountains on one side and Kangra valley on the other. A very popular trekking spot, Triund attracts a lot of tourist every year from India and all over the world.

The Triund  trek can be described as a tranquil trek which can be easily accomplished by almost all age groups. Triund has an unambiguous byway which goes through a beautiful mixed forest of oak, deodar and rhododendron. The trek is fairly easy for the first five kilometers but the last one kilometer may require a bit of toil. Infact the last kilometer is also popularly know as the “22 curves” as it has 22 tiring curves before you finally reach Triund.

Along the way there are many small chai shops where one can refresh during the hike. The traipse is worth it as the panorama when you reach Triund is awe-inspiring and exhilarating. Triund trek can be easily done for most part of the year except when there is heavy snowfall (generally during January & February).

While trekking to Triund, do stop over and explore McLeod Ganj. Infact McLeod Ganj  is just 3 kms north of Dharamsala town (or 10 kms via the looping bus route). McLeod Ganj is the residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and home to a large Tibetan population, including many monks and nuns. The Tibetan government-in-exile is based just downhill at Gangchen Kyishong. McLeod attracts thousands of international visitors each year to volunteer with the Tibetan community, take courses in Buddhism, meditation or yoga, shop for Tibetan crafts, or just hang out and enjoy the low-budget spiritual/alternative vibe and the many good cafes and restaurants dishing up Indo-Italo-Israeli-Tibetan food.

With an interesting mix of travellers, volunteers, maroon-robed monks and nuns, the international dharma crowd and an increasing flow of Indian tourists, you're never far from an interesting conversation here.

WOW. What fun. From the beginning of this trip, we were super excited. We reached McLeoadganj and it was raining, but even before we could say anything, WeTrippy's team members were there to take care of our bags and everything. The rooms were we stayed were very comfortable and nice. The trek was super fun and the best part was the food. We got tired eating, but these guys never got tired serving us. Overall it was real fun and all 6 of us from Gurgaon were really pampered and taken real good care. Thank you and I will surely recommend this trip to everyone.

We had an amazing trip last month and the overall arrangement was so well managed and planned. Our guide, Sharmaji was equally amazing and he took care of us from the minute we reached McLeoadganj. If ever I get a chance to visit again, I will surely recommend and do this trek again with WeTrippy's team members. Thank you.
